On Sunday 14th June 2009, during a live Sunday service at The SCOAN, Prophet TB Joshua spoke forth messages of prophecy concerning events that would happen in the month of July, 2009. Stating the exact dates of one of the events, he urged the congregation and the world to fast and pray to save the souls in a particular country. Let’s listen to what he said.

“In Jesus Christ’s name we pray, amen. (twice) 16th  17th. I want you to fast and pray – 16th, 17th. On 16th and 17th, pray. Just fast and pray and save these souls. Which country, which particular place, What’s going to happen? I see this- - - We have to come together and pray. July ending. 2nd to the last day, last day. Two days to the last, month of July.  Two days. The thing will, start from --- Pray too and fast. Apart from 16th, 17th. We are looking at the whole world, what is going to happen. Not only here but the whole world.”

These were just two of the prophetic messages delivered by Prophet TB Joshua for the month of July 2009. Stating the month, July, Prophet TB Joshua also prophesied the exact dates of the events. He said: 16th, 17th. July ending. And 2nd to the last day, last day. In confirmation of the prophetic words, 16th 17th July, news broke that suicide bombers had carried out a coordinated attack on two luxury hotels in the Indonesian capital of Jakarta. Numerous national and international guests at the hotels were injured and at least 6 were killed.

The bombings which took place 16th, 17th July at the JW Marriott and Ritz Carlton hotels, were the first major attacks in Indonesia since a series of suicide bombings on the resort island of Bali in 2005. Indonesian investigators believe the bombers checked into the two hotels before the attacks and were scheduled to check out on Friday. Both blasts struck the hotels' restaurants and several prominent international business leaders were among the casualties.

Let us recall the exact words Prophet TB Joshua spoke during the live Sunday service:

 “In Jesus Christ’s name we pray, amen. (twice) 16th  17th. I want you to fast and pray – 16th, 17th. On 16th and 17th, pray.”

Take note of, 16th, 17th. In fulfilment of the words of Prophet TB Joshua, on Thursday, the 16th of July 2009, just a day before Friday's deadly strike, the Strategic Policy Institute - an Australian think tank - had warned that a specific terrorist group might launch new attacks and as that day was ending in the western hemisphere, reports broke that suicide bombers had attacked the two luxury hotels at 7:45 a.m. and 7:47 a.m. the 17th July 2009 in Jakarta, Indonesia.

God had revealed the exact dates this tragic event would occur, the 16th, 17th July, showing us that we are truly under His eyes. God knows who we are, where we are and what is about to happen – and He will not hide these secrets to His servants.

“Just fast and pray and save these souls.”

Just as Prophet TB Joshua saw in the revelation given by God, there were indeed many souls in danger. In a city of 14 million people, the residential and restaurant district of Mega Kuningan in Jakarta is home to many expatriates and their embassies and contains several of Jakarta’s finest restaurants and apartment complexes. Breakfast meetings at the hotels in the area, which are frequented by international visitors, are a regular part of Jakarta business life. The attacks occurred as the Marriott was hosting a regular meeting of top foreign executives at major companies in Indonesia organized by the consultancy firm CastleAsia, which is headed by an American. The blasts at the high-rise J.W. Marriott and Ritz-Carlton hotels, located side-by-side in an upscale business district in Jakarta, blew out windows and scattered debris and glass across the street. An Associated Press reporter saw bodies being carried away in police trucks. One eyewitness, who was jogging nearby, said he walked into the Marriott before emergency services arrived and "there were bodies on the ground, one of them had no stomach," he said. "It was terrible."  The security minister and police said that a New Zealaner was among those killed and that 17 other foreigners were amongst those wounded, including nationals from Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, India, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, South Korea, the US and Britain. Indeed, there was need to pray to save these souls.

“Which country, which particular place, What’s going to happen? I see this- - -”Shocking the international community, these deadly bombings ended four years of relative peace in the country of Indonesia. The attacks come just weeks after the peaceful presidential elections in a country of 240 million people which has been praised in recent years for maintaining a pluralist democracy while finding and punishing radicals responsible for a series of bombings more than five years ago. What’s going to happen? Prophet TB Joshua asked? Truly, it was not what the people of Indonesia were expecting.

We have to come together and pray.

As Prophet TB Joshua has implored us, we must come together and pray for the peace of the entire world. The earth is full of violence.
