On Sunday 13th December 2009, during the second live service at The SCOAN, Prophet TB Joshua gave a prophecy concerning an attempt on the life of a president of one of the great nations saying that he saw a narrow escape. These were his words:
In Jesus’ name. An attempt on a president of one of the great nations. Pray for protection. Open your lips. In Jesus name we pray. I see a narrow escape - very narrow, too narrow but the whole thing failed. But we continue to pray; we continue to pray.

Just a few hours later, that very evening - Sunday 13th December 2009, news hit the media worldwide that the Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi was rushed to hospital after being attacked at a political rally in Milan.

Minutes after the news of the attack on the Italian Prime Minister hit the headlines, Emmanuel TV gave a live report of the confirmation of the prophecy during the second Sunday service – the very same service in which Prophet TB Joshua gave the prophecy.

Recall the words of Prophet TB Joshua:

Truly, the attack on Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi’s life was an exact confirmation of the prophecy spoken by Prophet TB Joshua just hours before the shocking incident occurred.

The target of the attack, Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, known as President of the Council of Ministers of Italy, is the head of the Italian government.

The Central European Superpower, Italy has a major global impact in politics and culture and is a founding member of what is now the European Union. It is a member of the G8 and G20, having the world's seventh-largest nominal GDP. The democratic republic of Italy is indeed one of the great nations of the world, just as Prophet TB Joshua said.

The attack occurred shortly after Berlusconi gave a speech to thousands of supporters from his Freedom Party around 6:30 p.m. local time, at a political rally at the Cathedral Square in Milan. TV media showed how the attack left Berlusconi bleeding profusely from his left upper lip and cheek as aides lifted him to his feet and hustled him into his car after the attack.

Reports state that he was rushed from the scene to a Milan hospital to be treated. Berlusconi suffered a "fractured nose, two broken teeth and an injury to the inside and outside of his lip, said Paolo Klun, chief spokesman for Milan's San Raffaele Hospital. Berlusconi's personal physician, Alberto Zangrillo, told reporters that at least 3 weeks would be required for a full recovery of the assailants attack.

The news footage showed the severity of the attack on the Prime Minister. It was surely a narrow escape, just as Prophet TB Joshua had prophesied.
Still in hospital, Premier Silvio Berlusconi reportedly said the following morning that “it was a miracle that he was not blinded by the attack in central Milan last night that left him with a broken nose, two missing teeth and a cut lip”.

Italy’s interior minister Ernesto Roberto Maroni said on Monday 14th December, “Yesterdays attack on Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi could have been fatal”.

The sharp, dangerous metal object which was hurled at the Italian Prime Minister was a metal statuette of the cathedral in Milan.
You can see from the picture (left) how dangerous the attack was, particularly given the position of the sharp spire of the cathedral. Imagine what would have happened had this object entered the Prime Minister’s eye. It was indeed a narrow escape from a life threatening situation as the prophet said, very narrow, too narrow.

Just as Prophet TB Joshua had prophesied, the whole thing failed. The attempt on the life of Prime Minister Berlusconi failed. Thank God for the call to pray for protection and for the Italian Prime Minister who narrowly escaped with his life. As Prophet TB Joshua instructed, we will continue to pray. Our prayer is that God would continue to shelter the Italian Prime Minister, Silvio Berlusconi and the italian nation under the shadow of His protection, in Jesus’ name.
