One by one, the list of prophecies for the year, read out by Prophet TB Joshua, are coming to pass.
Among the prophecies read out by Prophet T.B. Joshua on Sunday 17th January, 2010, was the one concerning the nation, China.
“Prayer for the nation, China over an earthquake that will cause a big destruction. I’m seeing children and many trapped.”
Two weeks later, on Sunday 31st January, 2010, Prophet T.B. Joshua read out the list of prophecies a second time, giving more detail about the earthquake that would take place in China.
“Like the case of China - I mentioned China over earthquake. It’s a disaster; nothing will work. No school, nothing. People will be dying. There’s nowhere people will run to. Too cold that your blood would be seized.”
On the morning of Wednesday 14th April, 2010, a 6.9 earthquake shook Northwest China, killing hundreds and injuring more than 10,000 as schools, houses and offices collapsed. The 10km deep quake was centred in the mountains that divide the Qinghai province from the Tibet Autonomous Region. People were trapped in the rubble of school buildings and homes and survivors in the mountainous region passed the night in freezing temperatures. Local rescue officials said the death toll has risen to over 1,000.
The powerful quake toppled about 15,000 homes in and around Yushu county and caused more than 100,000 people to flee the area. In Jiegu, the town closest to the epicenter, more than 85 percent of the mud-brick houses collapsed and thousands of residents got buried under the wreckage. Authorities in Beijing declared a top level emergency after the deadly earthquake had struck. As the prophet said, the earthquake truly caused a big destruction as schools, offices, homes and government buildings were destroyed in the mountainous Qinghai province. Bridges and roads around Yushu were cracked and others completely cut off, state television had said. "You can spot dead people from every collapsed house. All buildings were damaged," said a local resident of Yushu.
"The injured are everywhere in the streets. A lot of people are bleeding from head wounds," Xinhua news agency quoted a local official as saying. "There is a big crack in the Yushu Hotel and the four-storey meeting hall of the prefecture government has collapsed."
The quake and the aftershocks resulted in the destruction of various low-rise mud brick buildings. Many one-storey buildings collapsed and thousands of residents got buried under the wreckage. Local official, Huang Limin, told Xinhua that soldiers had been sent to the scene to comb through the debris for survivors.
The prophet said that he saw children and many trapped. The Xinhua News Agency officially reported that many school buildings had caved in, leaving many students dead and others trapped in the rubble. It was reported that 30 to 40 students were buried under a collapsed four-story building in a school in Yushu prefecture. "I do not know how many students have died. I recovered several bodies from the debris," said Zhu Liang, a rescuer at the Yushu vocational school.
Chang, a teacher at Yushu Primary School, a boarding school with about 1,000 students, said: "Buildings in our school were all toppled, and five pupils have died. Morning sessions did not begin when the quake happened. Some pupils ran out of dorms alive, and those who had not escaped in time were buried," Chang said.
As the majority of homes and buildings collapsed, residents truly had nowhere to run to as the prophet had said – they were left out in the cold. A Zhou, a local commented on their condition, saying, "We have no shelter, but have to sit on the grass in the open area, and we have no food and no water.”
“Many of us woke up and ran out of our homes without wearing shoes. At that time, all we could see in front of us were collapsed walls and houses. Everyone ran to spacious places and up to the mountains," one resident said.
Thousands of earthquake survivors braved near-freezing temperatures with little shelter after the 6.9-magnitude temblor flattened the town of Jiegu in Western China, killing 589 people and injuring 10,000. Temperatures were forecast to drop as low as minus 3 degrees Celsius in the mountainous region on the Tibetan Plateau, more than 4,000 metres above sea level.
Many survivors were sleeping outside in freezing conditions, either because their homes had been destroyed or they were too afraid to spend the night indoors. The temperature drops to freezing at night, and over the next few days, snow, sleet and driving wind are expected.
We at Emmanuel TV and the Synagogue, Church Of All Nations pray for the nation of China, and all those who lost their loved ones in this earthquake disaster, and for the survivors that God would be their refuge, their strength, an ever present help in this time of trouble. We pray for the rescue workers, that God would strengthen and guide them in the task at hand.
