On Sunday 17th January, 2010, among the list of prophecies that Prophet TB Joshua gave for the year, was one concerning something that he saw in the sky that would have negative effects. “I’m seeing in the sky something that will cause discussion amongst scientists and nations. But this thing will have negative effects.”
Two weeks later, on Sunday 31st January 2010, Prophet T.B. Joshua prophesied further about what he had seen in the sky calling it another natural disaster. “This other natural disaster – can we call it snow? And the thing will be falling like a whitish thing and it will stop the whole system. This will come from the hill. It’s a strange thing.”
A few months later, on Sunday 11th April 2010, the Prophet spoke in more detail about the prophecy specifically mentioning that on Thursday we should fast and pray for nations around the world. “On Thursday, fast and pray for the nations, countries around the world. On Thursday. Take your time to do that. As you do that, the Lord would also do it for you in Jesus’ name. Amen.
On Thursday 15th April, 2010, the very day mentioned by Prophet TB Joshua, a massive cloud of volcanic ash following a volcanic eruption in Iceland drifted into European airspace, grounding all flights and leaving tens of thousands of passengers stranded across Europe affecting businesses worldwide. Aviation officials called it the largest-scale closure of British airspace - ever.
It was on a Thursday the exact day of the week Prophet TB Joshua mentioned that we should pray and fast for nations around the world - Thursday 15th April 2010, news hit world media that clouds of volcanic ash spewed into the air over the British Isles and Europe. A volcanic eruption which occurred in Iceland spewed black smoke and white steam into the air. The ash plume, which rose to between 20,000 feet and 36,000 feet lay above the Atlantic Ocean close to the flight paths for most routes from the U.S. east coast to Europe. The whole of British airspace was affected causing an unprecedented closure of airports and cancellation of flights. Reports state that the airline industry is losing an estimated $200 million a day and delays and cancellations are expected to last at least through the weekend.

The thing that Prophet TB Joshua had seen in the sky in the vision God had shown him was a cloud of volcanic ash which truly caused negative effects in the whole of Europe and indeed worldwide.
The negative effects of the disaster involving ash were widespread. The volcanic ash cloud making much of northern Europe a no-fly zone has hurt the prices of airline stocks, paralyzed air cargo delivery and disrupted business and leisure travel. An aviation expert said it was the first time in living memory that an ash cloud had affected some of the most congested airspace in the world. According to a scientist in Iceland, the ejection of volcanic ash — and therefore disruptions in air travel — could continue for days or even weeks.
The volcano's smoke and ash poses a threat to aircraft because it can affect visibility, and microscopic debris can get sucked into airplane engines and can cause them to shut down.
Apart from the threat to aircraft and machinery, the United Nations health agency, World Health Organization, issued a warning of health risks related to the Icelandic volcano. A top professor of environmental health said the Icelandic volcano ash that has disrupted air travel poses a significant risk for people already suffering from respiratory ailments and can also lead to breathing problems.
Notice the way that the prophet described the volcanic ash from the vision that he saw: “This other natural disaster – can we call it snow? And the thing will be falling like a whitish thing and it will stop the whole system.”
The whitish volcanic ash which blocked European airspace caused widespread disruption worldwide. Ash clouds from Iceland's spewing volcano halted air traffic across a wide swathe of Europe grounding planes on a scale unseen in years, as authorities stopped all flights over Britain, Ireland and the Nordic countries. This strange natural disaster shut down London's five major airports including Europe’s busiest airport Heathrow which handles over 1,200 flights and 180,000 passengers per day. Without a doubt the whitish volcanic ash stopped the whole system just as Prophet TB Joshua had prophesied.
The closures in Europe had an effect worldwide. Thousands of flights were cancelled, stranding hundreds of thousands of passengers and costing airlines hundreds of millions of Dollars, Euros and Pounds.
“On Thursday, fast and pray for the nations, countries around the world.” The volcanic ash cloud which drifted into European airspace, on Thursday caused shutdowns and cancellations in many nations - countries around the world including: Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine, United Kingdom, Russia and Spain. Air travel throughout Europe and around the world was still disrupted Saturday as thick clouds of ash from a volcano eruption in Iceland continued to drift across the continent. Officials expect air travel to be disrupted for several days.

The strange occurrence of the volcanic ash and the effects it caused fast became a topic for discussion among scientists. An investigative mission was carried out by scientists to analyze samples taken from the volcanic ash cloud sitting over Britain. A plane carrying the researchers flew right up to the cloud to test its contents. The data could reveal important information about the environmental impact of the eruption. The information gathered would enable experts to determine where the concentrations of abrasive particles and acidic gases might be dangerous. ''It will give us some new information on the way volcanic plumes mature and change and how they evolve from the moment they erupt,'' said Mr. Purcell of the Natural Environment Research Council.
The natural disaster was a strange thing just as the prophet had said - it was the first time that an ash cloud had affected some of the most congested airspace in the world. Observers in Scotland reported the smell of sulfur in the air with sightings of strange hazy ash clouds in the sky.
