    "FIFA WORLD CUP OPENING MATCH"

First match – I am seeing a goal for the nation, South Africa. I want to see how the nation will receive the voice of God before I continue. If the host country scores one, they have to defend their home; they know they cannot score more than that because this is a vision from God. But a situation where they want to score more, they will score against them. The other people will have one; the host country will have one. Anybody that hears this voice of God, they will want to first score – if they score, they will not bother to score more. Any ball they have, they will just play it outside.Definitely, they will go with that one. The Lord said, there can be no more than one."

On Sunday 6th June 2010 Prophet T.B. Joshua prophesied concerning the opening match of the FIFA world Cup between the host country, South Africa and Mexico. These were his words.

“In Jesus Christ’s name we pray. This is the first time Africa is hosting a senior World Cup. I want you to lift up your voice and pray for the nation, South Africa for protection throughout that period – because whatever happens there happens to us here. If there is any deficiency, it will show that Africa is not capable. Pray for this nation for the protection of people coming there. With God all things are possible. Please lift up your voice and pray. In Jesus Christ’s name we pray. To His power, nothing is impossible.

When it comes to the issue of football, the host country would want their people to make a difference.

Any ball they have, they will just play it outside.

Definitely, they will go with that one. The Lord said, there can be no more than one.
When the opening match is very wonderful, it will encourage the host country. If the opening match is wonderful, that will encourage the host country.”

The FIFA World Cup, a month long tournament of 64 matches is the most watched television event in history and in its 80 years, the 2010 event was held for the first time ever in the continent of Africa, in the nation of South Africa. The opening match saw the host team, South Africa battling to a one all draw against Mexico.

The magnificent Soccer City’s showpiece arena was filled to its 94,000 capacity with those to watch the spectacular opening, with hundreds of millions of viewers tuned in worldwide. For those who could not get tickets to the grand opening ceremony, tens of thousands of people of all nationalities and races, packed into Johannesburg’s Innes free Park to watch history being made on massive projector screens as the home team kicked off the first ever African World Cup. Despite the huge crowds surging in high spirits, and with the incident of a tie, there were no reported incidents of hooliganism or fan misbehaviour - all sharing the excitement of being part of the first ever World Cup hosted in Africa.

Just as the prophet said, he saw a goal for South Africa. Ten minutes into the second half, Siphiwe Tshabalala crashed home an epic goal giving South Africa a 1- Nil lead. The stadium erupted in shouts and cheers as fans’ trumpets blared to welcome the first goal  in the first African World Cup by South African striker, later named man of the match, Siphiwe Tshabalala.

Clear counsel was given by the man of God to the host nation that once they score the goal, they should defend their home, knowing that they would not score more than the one goal. This was the vision from God. Prophet T.B. Joshua went on to offer the advice that if South Africa wanted to try and score more than the one goal, the opposing team would score one against them, which would result in a draw - South Africa - one, Mexico - one. This is exactly what took place as South Africa in an attempt to seize another goal only achieved a near-miss. The Mexican team were then able to counterattack, giving Rafael Marquez the opportunity to equalise the score with only 11 minutes of play to go.

The man of God exhorted the South African team to act on the Word of God, to be satisfied with scoring one goal and focus on defending their home, playing any ball they received out of the field and encouraged them that definitely they would go with that goal. He emphasised that the Lord said there could be no more than one goal for South Africa.

As the man of God said, despite their best efforts, including the magnificent attempt of Katlego Mphela to bring South Africa back into the lead and win the match in the final moments of the game, his shot bounced off the post and South Africa was unable to score more than the one goal.

The South African team may have been denied victory by a late Mexico equalizer but the South African goal scorer Siphiwe Tshabalala insisted the tournament hosts' performance in an exciting 1-1 draw in the FIFA World Cup 2010’s Opening Match had provided an important morale boost. In his own words.“We are leaving Soccer City with our heads up. We now know that we can compete with some of the best players in the world”. It was a stunning goal to mark his 50th appearance for his country – and one Tshabala will never forget. "I think that one is very special, it probably ranks amongst the most important goals in my career,” said Siphiwe Tshabalala.

In every situation, God has something to say. Even when He seems to be quiet, He is still saying something. We thank the Lord for His revelation through Prophet T.B. Joshua and the wonderful beginning of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

We at Emmanuel TV and The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations pray that God, the Almighty would continue to shower His mercy, favour, security and peace upon the Host nation, South Africa and all the visitors from other nations in attendance in the name of Jesus Christ.
